There are lots of events happening in the next two weeks that involve The Great Escape cafe and The Salvation Army Petone. They're listed here so you can see the event, date & time on a single page.
Sunday 29 August - The Great Escape Cafe
(doors open at 9am)
This is the usual pancake breakfast and this week we're wondering how to be a good neighbour in the world. Expect the usual TGE experience with lots of great food and coffee.
Sunday 5 September - Father's Fete
(doors open 9:30am)
For Father's Day we're going to be building a playhouse (weather permitting). This means you should bring your Dad and be prepared to help out. We're also running The Generation Game that will let Father and Child compete in some fun games together
Sunday 5 August - Gospel & Dixieland Concert
(starts at 3:30pm)
That is right, something very different at The Salvation Army hall in the afternoon. Come along and hear an ensemble of excellent musicians playing gospel & dixieland music for your enjoyment.

Success Sunday!
The Great Escape Cafe, FIFA World Cup special was a blast! Between the live music and the football competition you still had those great pancakes and superb coffee. The team involved in coordinating the cafe were really pleased about the morning and hope you (if you were there) had a great time.
As we mentioned at the cafe, this Sunday those of us involved in coordinating the cafe are meeting in the building to have coffee & cake (we do this every week) and talk about success. In fact we're not only talking about it but we're having a small panel of people talk to us about success in their life!
The panel will be telling us their definition of success, their greatest success, and what they want their epitaph to read (i.e. the success they're pursuing for their life). You'll have the chance to ask the panel questions as well as share your success paradigm.
Success (or the pursuit of it) is all around us all the time and it shapes our view of society & our lives. We'd love it if you came along and joined us in this conversation.
